1. Be Prepared- There are so many resources that you can use to find safe gluten-free places to eat. You can search Facebook groups for locations all over the country as well as all over the world. There are several apps such as: Find Me Gluten-Free or Gluten Dude, that can help you find safe restaurants to eat at. Instagram is another place where you can find lots of resources and people who can help you find safe restaurants in the United States or other countries.
2. Have a backup plan- make sure you have several options to choose from. An alternative plan is important because sometimes your first plan does not work out. The restaurant you chose may no longer be open. You may get to the restaurant and not feel they take the proper precautions for you to eat safely.
3. Be flexible- This is the most important of all four tips. Eating out gluten-free can sometimes be difficult. There will be times when even your back-up plan doesn't work. This is when you will need to be flexible and find a different location. You may even wind up at the grocery store. The more flexible you are, the less stressed you will be about eating out.
4. Grocery stores- they are your friend. When all else fails you can always find a grocery store no matter what state, city, or country you are in. There will be something there that you will be able to find to eat if your dinner plans don't work out. Sometimes you may choose the grocery store instead of eating out because it is easier and less stressful. Eating out every meal while away can be stressful and overwhelming.
I hope these tips help you! If you have a tip about eating out gluten-free, please leave it below in the comments.
