About Me
Meet Noreen Wheeler
I help people with celiac disease and their families feel less overwhelmed, better prepared and more confident in everyday gluten-free life.
My guidance is shaped by living with celiac disease, raising a child with celiac disease, more than 25 years as a school counselor and my personal experiences traveling gluten-free.

My Journey With Celiac Disease

I was diagnosed with celiac disease in 2013. Like many people facing a diagnosis, I had to learn how to approach food, restaurants, social situations and travel differently.
Celiac disease can affect everyday decisions that other people may not need to consider. Even something as simple as eating at a restaurant, attending an event or planning a family trip can require additional questions and preparation.
I also understand celiac disease from a parent’s perspective because I am raising a child with celiac disease. I know how difficult it can feel to balance safety with your child’s need to participate fully in school, social activities and family experiences.
These personal experiences inspired me to share what I have learned and help other people feel less alone.

More Than 25 Years Supporting Children and Families
For more than 25 years, I have worked as a school counselor, helping children and families navigate challenges, communicate concerns and move forward with greater confidence.
I am not a nutritionist or a medical professional; however, my professional experience as a school counselor has given me extensive experience listening to families, understanding their concerns, and helping them organize practical next steps.
This combination of professional experience and lived celiac experience allows me to understand many of the emotional and practical concerns families face, especially when it comes to having a family member with celiac disease.

My goal is simple:
Help You Live Fully With Celiac Disease
Celiac disease may mean doing some things differently, but it doesn’t mean you can’t live fully and travel freely. Gluten Free Life & Travels is your resource for navigating life with celiac disease, from everyday living and school to dining, travel, and everything in between.
Find trusted resources, practical tips, and support to help you live confidently and explore the world gluten-free.

You Are More Than Your Diagnosis
A celiac diagnosis can bring uncertainty, frustration and fear, but it does not define who you are or what your life can become.
I want to help you replace some of that uncertainty with preparation, practical tools and confidence. You may need to approach certain experiences differently, but you can still live fully and travel freely.
